Question: What maintenance issues should I be prepared to address after replacing my existing rotary cutter’s mechanical drive with an electronic dual drive system?

Answer: Electronic servo drives systems require much less maintenance than mechanical gear trains that vary sheet length. You will no longer have a mechanical transmission or expansion pulley to maintain. Gears with wear and backlash problems will be replaced by high torque drive belts that require no maintenance, other than to be kept clean and inspected for tautness.

Greasing any bearings within the drive train from the two motors to the draw drum and knife revolver bearings needs to be continued.

Finally, inspecting and replacing as necessary the filters at the drive cabinet needs to be scheduled on at least a quarterly basis.
